ABOUT ME

I have worked in publishing since the early 1980s after studying illustration and design at Brighton College of Art & Design.

My career started as a designer and art buyer for a major educational publisher where I sourced new illustrators and initiated series designs.

I have been a freelance illustrator and designer since 1991.
Clients include: Folens, Scholastic, Harper Collins, Macmillan, Oxford University Press, Church House Publishing,The Institute of Studies and The National Extension College.

I combine traditional hand-drawing with Illustrator and Photoshop for my digital illustrations. I also work in QuarkXpress and InDesign to create page layouts.

I also produce work using traditional block printing techniques inspired by Japanese printmakers and the English tradition of the illustrative print. My knowledge of illustration and book design influences my printmaking and printmaking techniques influence my digital illustration and design work.
